Latest situation in detention operations

NEWS CENTER - 24 people were detained today following the attack on the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ankara. 20 women detained in the Riha-based operation were released.
 
Detention operations launched after the attack on the General Directorate of Security located in the Ministry of Internal Affairs campus on October 1 are continuing. On October 2, 21 people, including the executives of the People's Democratic Congress (HDK), the People's Democratic Party (HDP) and non-governmental organizations, were detained in Istanbul and Kırklareli. 21 people were sent to the courthouse today after police procedures.
 
20 WOMEN ARE FREE IN RIHA
 
It was announced that 55 people were detained in operations carried out in 16 provinces on October 3. Most of those detained in Riha(Urfa)-centered Mêrdin, Amed(Diyarbakır), Dîlok(Gaziantep), Mersin, Şirnex(Şırnak), Istanbul, Bursa, Êlih(Batman), Denizli, Adana, Kayseri, Antalya, Konya, Isparta and Kocaeli were refugees.
 
20 women who were detained were released after their statements to the police last night. It was learned that the women, who were accused of "being members of a terrorist organisation", were asked questions about the "Saziya Ewlekariya Lashkeri (SEL)" allegedly located in Northern and Eastern Syria.
 
It was stated that the people in the formation in question were asked to be identified and their residence addresses were asked. It was learned that the 4 released refugee women were taken to the Provincial Immigration Administration Repatriation Center to be deported.
 
The police interviews of 35 people in custody are expected to begin today.
 
On October 4, 37 people were detained in 15 provinces. It was reported that the detentions took place in Istanbul, Wan(Van), Riha(Urfa), Elezîz(Elazığ), Düzce, Amed(Diyarbakır), Bursa, Edirne, Kırklareli, Kilis, Îdir, Hatay, Adana, Mereş and Denizli. It was learned that the detained people were accused of social media posts.
 
24 PEOPLE WERE DETAINED
 
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced that 24 people were detained in house raids in Erzirom(Erzurum), Dîlok(Gaziantep), Istanbul and Şirnex(Şırnak) today.
 
BALANCE SHEET: AT LEAST 136 PEOPLE WERE DETAINED
 
The number of people detained in the last 4 days has reached at least 136 with the operation carried out today. While 20 women have been released, the procedures for the others are continuing at the police and prosecutor's office.
