Grup Yorum members Helin Bölek and İbrahim Gökçek who started a death fast with the demands of removing the bans on their concerts, stopping the raids on İdil Culture Center, and removing their members from the red list, have been detoriorating. Humans' rights defenders held a meeting with the Ministry of Interrior for Bölek who is on a death fast for 285 days and Gökçek who is on a death fast for 288 days recently. The ministry said that they will review their demands if they end the death fast.

 

Grup Yorum member Seher Adıgüzel who reacted to the Ministry of Interrior claiming that they will review the demands of Grup Yorum,said: "We will continue our death fast until victory. Meet our demands and then we will end the hunger strike."

 

Providing information about the health status of Bölek and Gökçek, Adıgüzel said: "Gökçek is now 41 kilos and has wounds in his body, and Bölek is now 39 kilos experiencing fatigue, weakness and vomiting.

 

Adıgüzel also responded to those who say 'How can a person die to sing songs?' and said: "If they are the songs of a nation and the songs of hope, yes one can die."
